About us

PUCRS’s Science and Technology Park - Tecnopuc - is a vibrant ecosystem that brings together more than 290 organizations and 6,500 people that collaborate for the development of innovative solutions and businesses. Tecnopuc is one of the most important STP in Brazil and relates to more than 150 innovation hubs around the world.

PUCRS’s Science and Technology Park (Tecnopuc) has been operating, for 20 years, with different mechanisms to help with business projects, supporting assistance and infrastructure, making them into competitive enterprises to perform in the industry. The goal is to create opportunities for the entrepreneurial vision of the PUCRS community. Currently, 199 organizations integrate the Park, and over 90 of them are startups. Tecnopuc is one of the most important Science and Technology Parks in the country*. The ecosystem includes public and private companies, research centers, startups and professional and corporate entities in an articulated community which collaborates for the development of innovative businesses. It is a member of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP)**.

Tecnopuc has developed over 300 startups since 2003. Companies of different sizes, entities and research centers from the Institution are based in three locations: in Porto Alegre, at the Main Campus and the Health Hub, and in Viamão, both in the state of Rio Grande do Sul – Brazil. The organizations operate in four areas: Creative Industry, Information Technology, and Communication, Life Sciences, Energy and Environment. Innovation in Tecnopuc is based on three guiding pillars: innovating and transforming, being connected and global, being light and fast.

Tecnopuc offers a vibrant and collaborative environment designed specifically to assist startups at all stages of development. By being part of our global ecosystem, startups have access to a wide range of resources and services, including cutting-edge infrastructure, specialized technical support, and training programs, aimed at accelerating their growth, obtaining strategic and financial support, and increasing their chances of success in the market. Proximity to a diverse community of entrepreneurs, mentors, and experts provides unique networking, collaboration, and learning opportunities. Additionally, Tecnopuc offers privileged access to potential investors and investment funds, allowing startups to present their ideas and projects to a qualified audience seeking investment opportunities.

Assist in the search for innovative solutions to drive business development, through projects focused on new ventures, products, services, or processes. Identify corporations' innovation needs and facilitate co-creation projects in collaboration with various ecosystem actors, including startups, researchers, and experts. Offer acceleration projects for initiatives, acting as creative mentoring to promote innovation within corporations. Combine academic knowledge and market insight to conduct interdisciplinary research that drives innovation. Provide assistance for national or international soft landing, facilitating corporations' entry into new markets.

Participate in a select group of investors and investment funds, divided into different Angel Groups and Accelerators, Pre-seed and Seed Funds, Series A and B Funds, and CVC Funds. Possibility of relying on Tecnopuc for the startup evaluation process, assisting in identifying investment opportunities aligned with the Investment Thesis. Opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of startups at various stages, from Ideation to Scaling, driving innovation and entrepreneurship.

EnSilica found in Tecnopuc the right environment to establish relations with the technical-scientific community, with government agencies and with state agencies that work in science, technology and innovation such as MCTI, SICT-RS and SCTI-Porto Alegre. EnSilica started its activities at Tecnopuc with 12 employees in 2021, three of which are PUCRS alumni. We have grown to 21 employees in 2022, seven of which are PUCRS alumni, and two are PhD. Being at Tecnopuc facilitates the recruitment of new qualified talents who graduated from PUCRS.
