Roti Jala is one of the popular street food in Indonesia with some influence of Indian cuisine
200 gr all-purpose flour
200 ml water or milk
1 large egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Mix all the ingredients in a mixing bowl until smooth
- Place the batter inside a piping bag
- Preheat your non-stick skillet and brush with a bit of oil. Cut the tip of the piping bag and pipe the batter in a circle but forming a spider-web pattern at the same time
- Cook until it's the batter is set and cooked through but not to the point of crispy as these will be rolled while they are still warm
- Remove from the skillet and rolled into large log shape. Repeat until you are done with the rest of the batter
- Usually served with curry dishes
