In the last Houston City Council meeting under term-limited Mayor Sylvester Turner’s administration, the council approved by a vote of 9 to 7 a change to four previously approved contracts that will make it more difficult to cancel the agreements for food services at the city’s airports.

In the original contracts with SSP America, Paradies Lagardere, LaTrelle’s Galley, and Areas, the parties agreed to language allowing termination for “convenience” by the Houston Airports System’s executive director with 30 days’ notice.
