A Qantas flight carrying fly-in, fly-out workers to the State’s far north has had to make an emergency diversion back to Perth after striking a bird mid-air.

Flight QF 1206, from Perth to Port Hedland, was in the air for less than an hour when it struck the unlucky bird on Monday morning.
