Putrajaya has certainly come up in the world. Once a scrappy jungle settlement, it is now the federal administrative centre of Malaysia. That job used to belong to Kuala Lumpur, but the country's civic administration was moved to Putrajaya in 1999 to ease overcrowding and congestion in the capital city. Just 30 km south of KL, Putrajaya is well worth a trip for its traditional and contemporary architectural gems, ranging from traditional structures to gleaming and glistening government buildings. Just 30 km south of KL, Putrajaya is well worth a trip for its traditional and contemporary architectural gems, ranging from traditional structures to gleaming and glistening government buildings.
To get here, take the KLIA Transit line to Putrajaya. If you're not fussed on doing a lot of walking, inquire about group tours at your hotel.
