In a new move, Canada has decided to do away with the COVID 19 tests for fully vaccinated travellers who are coming into the country. The new rule will come into effect from Apr 1, 2022. According to reports, the government in Canada has not yet gone public with the news, but speculations suggest that the news will be made public soon.
Canada, much like most countries across the world went into lockdown and started to impose fresh restrictions after the outbreak of the Omicron variant of the virus. Now that Omicron seems to have been fading away from cities, travel restrictions are being easd worldwide.
Canadian air carriers could benefit vastly from this move, as travellers would be more open to travelling to Canada now. The hassle of getting a COVID test, even the cost for each test, can be a negative factor for travel.
