This lake is the largest glacier lake in the entire country of Czech Republic. It is located in the Bohemian Forest near the village of Zelezna Ruda. It is named as the Black Lake because the water of the lake reflects the dark colors of the forest surrounding it and also the depth of the lake adds to the dark effect that the water creates. Located in the center of the Nature Reserve of Rejiviz, the lake is surrounded by bog pines and many rare carnivorous plants.
