MSI's AM5 motherboards have received a major DDR5 memory support boost thanks to the latest AMD AGESA 1.0.0.7c BIOS update.

MSI AM5 Motherboards Get Up To DDR5-8000 Memory Support With AMD AGESA 1.0.0.7c BIOS

Last month, MSI rolled out the new and improved AGESA 1.0.0.7c BIOS which offers enhanced and better support for higher-frequency DDR5 memory. This new BIOS update not only improved DDR5 memory performance but also added various compatibility fixes and new features such as the High Efficiency Mode which boosts gaming performance by up to 12%.

Now, MSI has rolled out a full list of updated DDR5 frequencies that its AM5 motherboard lineup can support. Starting with the top of the lineup, we have the flagship MEG offerings, the X670E GODLIKE and the X670E ACE which now support up to DDR5-8000 memory. Previously, both of these boards supported DDR5-6666+ and DDR5-6600+ memory so the new speeds mark a major improvement.

Moving down the stack, we have multiple MPG and MAG series motherboards which also see a big boost in memory support. You'll find almost the entire segment supporting over DDR5-7000 DRAM and even the Pro A620M-E which is the most entry-level offering, has been given DDR5-6800 DRAM support certification thanks to the latest AGESA 1.0.0.7c BIOS update. This motherboard previously supported up to DDR5-6000 memory.

Following is how the new AGESA 1.0.0.7c BIOS update affects the DDR5 support for the MSI AM5 motherboard lineup:

As we have seen previously, the new AMD AGESA 1.0.0.7c BIOS update now only improves support for high-frequency memory but also allows for much higher overclocks. We have seen several AM5 boards easily hitting over DDR5-9000 frequencies which was previously impossible for the platform but after several updates soon, AMD board partners have strengthened the AM5 platform & we've also heard that more updates are on the way very soon.
