Kagamuga International Airport (IATA: HGU, ICAO: AYMH) is the second biggest airport in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and is located in the Waghi Valley, 13 km north-east of Mount Hagen, the capital of Western Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. The airport has one terminal and two runways, and is operated by its owner, National Airports Corporation of Papua New Guinea.
Flights depart several times daily for Port Moresby on Air Niugini and PNG Air, PNG's national airlines. PNG Air also flies to Lae, Madang, Goroka, Wewak, Kiunga, and Wapenamanda from Mount Hagen. The terminal building was upgraded in 2015 to accommodate international traffic and a flight from Brisbane (Australia) to Mount Hagen was proposed. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, these plans were shelved and as of 2023, no plans have been made.
