Passengers warned of continued disruption at German airports on Tuesday
Longer queues, delays expected at Frankfurt, Munich airports after Monday’s strike action

Passengers have been warned of continued disruption to flights in Germany in the aftermath of Monday’s nationwide transport strike.
Frankfurt Airport, a major international hub, resumed normal operations on Tuesday, but around 40 flights had to be canceled.
“Due to Monday’s strike by the ver.di union, flight disruptions and cancellations may still be expected at Frankfurt Airport today,” the airport authority said in a statement.
Passengers were advised to check the status of their flight online before traveling to the airport.
Munich Airport, another major hub, was busier than normal on Tuesday, as many passengers had rebooked their flights.
Passengers were warned that they should expect longer queues and delays due to the impact of yesterday’s strike action. Around 35 flights scheduled for Tuesday were canceled.
Public transport workers, airport security and ground personnel staged a 24-hour walkout on Monday, in a long-running dispute over pay and working conditions.
The ver.di trade union, which represents around 2.5 million public employees, is demanding a 10.5% and no less than €500 ($540) pay rise amid soaring inflation and the cost-of-living crisis.
