An Analysis of Some Learning Management Systems2019 •
The use of modern information and communication technology as a means of training pupils and students has become a popular trend. For this purpose, a special type of web-based content management systems, called Learning Management Systems (LMSs), has been used. Due to their wide implemented, lots of LMSs have been developed in recent years. All those platforms often provide similar features and users can hardly choose the most appropriate for them. There is a variety of methodologies for the quality evaluations of e-learning in the scientific literature. However, there are no good explanations and detailed studies of most of the modern LMS platforms. This article proposes an analysis of the usability and software functionality of the LMS frameworks. Based on the survey of the state-of-art science research, the criteria for analysis of the LMS platforms in this paper are summarized in three categories: Learning skills tools, Communication tools, and Productivity tools. The main goal is to present a wide-range comparative analysis of 36 electronic learning management systems. All of them support the use of multimedia elements, creating and editing the lectures, exercises and course assignments. The lack of communication support leads to using web forums and social networks out of the LMS. The contribution of this paper presents an enriched modern trend of the software methodologies of the web-based oriented learning management systems from the perspective of design and development.

Evaluation of Learning Management SystemsThis study examined, by analysis and comparison, two Learning Management Systems (LMS): Blackboard and Brightspace. The field research sample consisted of 513 students at Umm Al-Qura University. The study attempted to answer central questions dealing with the evaluation level of Umm Al-Qura University students for the characteristics of these two LMS. The study concludes that most students agree on the benefits of Blackboard and Brightspace, and according to them, the most common advantages of these LMS are: Help to access shared data and files, record and monitor the learner's performance, help to control and customize the educational process, facilitate the exchange of experiences and scientific concepts with others, the stable interface in controlling and moving among other components, facilitate discussion with the teacher and with students, and interface easy to understand and learn and easy to use. The study revealed that there is a statistically significant difference bet...

Teachers consider the Virtual Learning Environment a technological tool with strong didactic potential. This perception is validated by the frequency of its use both in technical and didactic spheres, which frequently interweave with each other. The main assumption of our research is that those technical and pedagogical competences of the digital tools have promoted the use of the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA) in class causing a change of the methodology used as a result. The study is a non-experimental one but an ex post facto with non-probabilistic sampling. The survey was carried out on a population of 640 teachers of a professional technical higher education institution in Chile. The results showed that, in order to incorporate digital tools into their educational practice, teachers should emphasize the didactic domain of those devices over the technical ones. In conclusion, it has been highlighted that the teaching staff uses AVA mainly to accomplish administrative tasks to the detriment of the didactic use.

MODIFIED LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN E-LEARNING THIS NEW NORMALThe Learning Management System (LMS) is a type of web-based software that is hosted on a server and is used to handle students' information, program enrollment, course content, and evaluation tools. The primary goal of this study was to ascertain the efficacy of learning management systems in affecting change in this new normal school context. The research study engaged 38 students from various courses who were enrolled in the Citi Global College's Weekend Education Program. A descriptive research design was adopted in this study. Descriptive research is one in which the range of one or more variables is described without respect for any causal or other assumption. The frequency (f) and percentage (%) relevant factors were used to determine the respondents' demographic profile in terms of age, sex, course, year level, available internet connection, and gadget use at home; whereas the weighted Mean (WM), ttest, and f-test variables were used to analyze the gathered data regarding the level of effectiveness on the quality characteristics of the learning management system and to determine if there were significant differences in respondents' assessments. The study's findings indicate that respondents were all working students; the majority of them use mobile data as their available internet subscription; and that there was no significant difference in the level of effectiveness of LMS's quality characteristics when respondents were grouped according to their demographic profile. The study recommended that instructors allow students sufficient time to process their output at the LMS because they were working students; prepare video tutorials to familiarize students with the LMS platform; use a good or faster internet connection of at least 4 Mbps and at least Android Marshmallow or iOS 8 on their mobile devices; and that the Learning Management System may be proposed for use by other neighboring schools.

A Survey of Tertiary Institutions' Teachers' Perception of Learning Management Systems as a Tool for Virtual Classroom Instruction2023 •
The learning management system has been the easiest means for: tracking students' development and progress in learning; keeping records of students' performance; facilitating classroom instruction with interactive audio/visual devices that enhance deep understanding of the subject matter; accessing relevant information within a fraction of a second; communicating with a colleague via forum, to mention but a few. Thus, this study investigates teachers' perceptions of the integration of the Learning Management System into classroom instruction at Sokoto State University. A workshop was organised to test the usability and effectiveness of integrating LMS into classroom instruction at Sokoto State University. A pre-and-post-test was administered to compare the level of teachers' perception of LMS, after which a paired-sample t-test was conducted to compare the means of the scores. The results of the pre-test indicated that most teachers at Sokoto State University have a wrong perception of the role of LSM in facilitation instructions. However, after the workshop, almost all of the participants indicated a good perception of the importance and role of LMS in facilitating classroom instruction in the university. Finally, the result indicates that there is a significant difference between the teachers' perceptions before and after the workshop. The study concludes that tertiary institutions in Sokoto State need training on online, mobile, and web-based learning to enable them to compete with other universities in the world.

A Systematic Review of the Role of Learning Management Systems in Virtual Classroom Instruction Delivery, Management, and Evaluation in Tertiary Institution2022 •
The learning management system has been the easiest means for: tracking students' development and progress in learning; keeping records of students' performance; facilitating classroom instruction with interactive audio/visual devices that enhance deep understanding of the subject matter; accessing relevant information within a fraction of a second; communicate with colleagues via forums, to mention but a few. The study investigated factors influencing adoption, attitude and satisfaction of LMS, acceptance of LMS, perception of LMS and usefulness for classroom and online instruction. The study adopted a systematic review of related literature between 2005 and 2018. In this review, researchers are purely interested in only recently published peer-reviewed articles on learning management systems, electronic education, and electronic learning. The outcome reveals that globally, educational institutions are patronising LMS as a means of executing teaching and learning tasks, physically and/or virtually. There is a high level of satisfaction indicated by the respondents of many studies. Lastly, users saw the usefulness of the LMS, especially during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

Analyzing Effectiveness Of Learning Management System In Present Scenario: Conceptual Background And Practical Implementation2020 •
Coronavirus is a widespread dangerous disease in recent months, originated in China but with a great impact at the global level. As a result, the education process is choked by shut down of college & universities and maintaining social distancing for reducing the outbreak from community transmission. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of Learning Management System (LMS) in higher education to support teaching and learning in this ‘new normal’ by providing a stand-alone platform for online & distance learning. LMS is a software application for administering, documenting, tracking, reporting, automating, and delivering educational, training, or learning and development programmes; which originated directly from the concept of e-learning. With the detailed conceptual approach of LMS, the study also associates with the practical implementation of Blackboard LMS in Chandigarh University. Additionally, the study also tastes a comparative analysis between Blackboard, Canvas & Moodle LMS.
