The Bob Baldwin love affair with Brazil began with his love of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto and Sergio Mendes as a child. His love elevated when he witnessed the marriage of American Funk / Jazz and the Samba / Bossa Nova sound which was later explored by the likes of Djavan, Ivan Lins, Elaine Elias, George Duke, Maurice White and Pat Methany. Fast forward, Baldwin follows up his popular Brazil Chill (2004) disc with more flavors from Rio, with covers by the aforementioned Djavan, Jobim and Lins. The result is a 20 song plus soundtrack through the eyes of this American... musically celebrating the year of the 2016 summer olympics in beautiful Brazil. Enjoy!

I own every Bob Baldwin CD and I'm pretty proud of it, and yes, take pride in the collection. I read a lot of customer reviews too and can be influenced by them like most. And I must admit that I've only written a handful of reviews never really knowing whose reading. However, this is the first time I ran to the computer to add my comments on this CD. It is amazing! Oh yes, amazing. It owns a smooth, comfy 2 and explosive confluence of latin and jazzy tones. 2 CDs...yes, 2 for the price of 1. It by far is his very best work. BTW...have you seen the Man, Bob Baldwin in person? Saw him in Charleston, SC 2 years ago and this past May in Hilton Head, and he's outstanding live. Get this CD!!!

Before I tell you how much I loved this jazzy collection, I'd like to thank Mr. Baldwin for providing a 2 disc collection for an amazing price! This set is a mellow and smooth offering of seriously tasty modern jazz delivered by one of the most talented keyboardists on the planet. Mr. Baldwin fuses Brazilian, Jazz and R&B rhythms and the outcome is a treat for the ears. Because of the extent of the content, I'd be hard-pressed to list all my favorites/highlights so, if you're reading this and you are a fan of Bob's music, this project is a must! Bob's tribute at the end of disc 2 to the great Maurice White is heartwarming and resonates each time I hear it ...... probably because it is the unequivocal truth!
