A Louisville hotel, which recently underwent an extensive renovation, has sold to new owners in Columbus.

Columbus-based Continental Real Estate Cos. bought a Louisville hotel.

The company purchased the Courtyard Louisville Airport in September for $15.2 million, according to the deed. The 150-room hotel is located near the Kentucky Exposition Center and Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. The hotel recently underwent a renovation.

The seller was Ashford Louisville LP, registered to Maryland-based Artemis Real Estate Partners. The total square footage of the hotel is 53,088 square feet.

The hotel completed a $1.36 million renovation in July. Some of the transformations included a contemporary exterior with warm wood cladding and state-of-the-art designer lighting, as well as an elevated courtyard. The outdoor space received new landscaping and a modernized fire pit.

Inside the hotel, the lobby, indoor pool area and public spaces have been renovated. There is now 1,350 square feet of meeting space for events and corporate functions.

The hotel is managed by local firm Musselman Hotels.

Continental Real Estate Cos. is behind several large, mixed-use developments in Central Ohio.

Frank Kass of Continental Real Estate Cos. is under contract to buy 3 acres from Capital University for $7.5 million to build about 200 apartments, office and a potential Cameron Mitchell restaurant. Kass and his team presented plans for the $73 million project back in August.

Kass hopes to start construction in April 2024 and finish in the spring of 2026. The site today is home to vacant apartments.

Continental doesn't have any other hospitality properties in Louisville, according to its website.
