Air Canada has signed an agreement with Porsche to supply cars for its chauffeur service at Toronto Pearson airport.
The fleet will initially include three electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, including the Porsche Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne, which will scale up to six in the future.
The luxury service resumed on April 21 and is offered to select international Signature Class (business class) customers connecting to Asia, Europe and South America. This comes after last month’s reopening of the carrier’s Signature Suite lounge in Toronto.
Customers arriving from within Canada will be met by a concierge and driven to the carrier’s lounge in a Porsche vehicle.
The airline is set to roll out the service at Vancouver International airport “later in 2022”, following the reopening of its signature suite at the airport this spring.
The initiative aims to support Air Canada’s commitment to reach a goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions throughout its global operations by 2050.
Scott O’Leary, vice president loyalty and product at Air Canada, commented:
“We’re excited to re-launch another key dimension of our Signature Service for international customers, anchored by our industry-leading Air Canada Signature Suite in Toronto’s Pearson Airport. Thanks to our partnership with Porsche, customers flying in International Signature Class can now experience their exciting and uncompromising vehicles.
“As we continue to restart key international routes, we look forward to welcoming our customers at Toronto Pearson with this one-of-a-kind airport premium experience in Canada, in partnership with one of the world’s most iconic luxury car brands.”
The chauffeur service has existed since 2018 and was previously powered by a fleet of BMWs.
