The CAD has been closely monitoring the suspension of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The CAD representatives were invited by the FAA to attend the Boeing 737 MAX Meeting.

The Director-General of the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Mr Che Jinjun; the then Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Mr Simon Li; and the President of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Macao Special Administrative Region (AACM), Mr Chan Weng-hong, attended the Pearl River Delta Region Air Traffic Management Planning and Implementation Tripartite Working Group (TWG) high-level meeting in Hangzhou.

The Director-General of the ATMB of the CAAC, Mr Che Jinjun; the then DGCA, Mr Simon Li; and the President of the AACM, Mr Chan Weng-hong, signed the Agreement on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Airspace Collaborative Development.

The CAD handled a new single-day record of 2 472 flight movements within the Hong Kong Flight Information Region (HKFIR).

The CAD and the International Air Transport Association jointly organised the Cargo Safety Seminar at CAD Headquarters to discuss issues on managing safety risk across air cargo supply chain with local and international air cargo industries.

Deputy Director-General of Civil Aviation, Mr Victor Liu, and CAD representatives attended the 56th Conference of Directors-General of Civil Aviation, Asia and Pacific Regions, in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The CAD representatives attended the 9th Meeting of the Regional Aviation Safety Group - Asia and Pacific Regions. A paper on managing aircrew fatigue in Hong Kong was submitted to share the experience on the avoidance of aircrew fatigue.

Transitional arrangements for the air cargo industry to implement ICAO's new policy direction on air cargo security commenced. The Regulated Agents are required to gradually increase the screening percentage of known cargoes to 100% in phases.
