As people are aware the situation down at the numbered streets in horden is dire to say the least. But their is an option... Durham county council have the legal ability and financial capacity to complete a compulsary purchase order on the empty properties. If this was done Durham county council could then bring these properties back to a good standard and provide the local community with more and better regulated social housing ( something wich is lacking in this area of county Durham )
