Kia ora and thank you for coming to the L&P internet petition.

The manu. It’s Aotearoa’s national and best dive, done in watery places everywhere. But there’s one place manus can’t be done. A diving competition. 

Why? Because Rule D8.6.1. of the International Diving Federation (FINA) rulebook says: “The entry into the water shall in all cases be vertical, with the body straight.” Basically, if you do a manu, you lose. And that’s stink, because manus are for winners. 

That’s why, L&P MASA (Manu Applied Sciences Aotearoa) is going to rewrite the rule book and get the manu recognised alongside the other great dives - like the pike, which is nowhere near as cool. 

Using internet technology, we are going to petition the International Diving big boss to make the manu an official, non-illegal dive, once and for all. 

But we need your help. And your signature. And your nan’s signature too. All the signatures. Because rule D8.6.1. affects all of us.

So, obviously sign it. For Aotearoa. And maybe one day, your manu might win you a gold medal, depending on how good you are at manus.
