DENVER—Denver International Airport has landed another international airline.
Airport officials announced Thursday that the low-cost Mexican carrier Volaris will begin service from Denver to Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City in December.
Volaris plans to operate flights between Denver and Mexico City twice a week from December through April and once a week from May through November. It plans to use a 144-seat Airbus A319 for the flights.
Denver also gained direct flights to Iceland this year via Icelandair, and United Airlines has announced plans to offer direct flights between Denver and Tokyo next year. Denver airport officials say Mexico City ranks as Denver’s seventh-largest international market.
