Obituary for Elio Lako

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elio Lako on August 13, 2023 beloved son, husband and father.

He is survived by his dear wife Arba Lako, his infant son Greyton, his loving parents Ermioni & Roland Lako, and beloved brother Gent Lako all of Weymouth MA. The entire family is deeply heartbroken by his sudden death and will grieve his absence forevermore.

Elio was born in Tirana, Albania on March 23, 1989. He spent his formative years there enjoying youthful adventures with his brother, playing soccer and loving beach visits. After his high school graduation from the Foreign Languages Asim Vokshi High School in 2006, and one year of Foreign Language University study he immigrated with his family to Massachusetts. He made a career in security operations for United Security at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, rising to the rank of supervisor and was highly respected by his peers as a dedicated and hard worker.

Elio was a constant companion to his father sharing the hobby of ardent soccer fans of the Inter Milan Club, enjoyed many matches together, and loved coffee visits and walks with his family. His older brother Genti was his closest friend throughout life, sharing a close bond and immense love as they navigated early adulthood and beyond together. Everyone that knew him can attest to his loyalty as a friend, cheerful and steadfast personality, and curiosity to constantly learn of the world around him.

Elio found a life partner in Arba Dada and they loved each other! Elio married the love of his life on February 14 and planned to spend the rest of their life together raising their son Greyton. They enjoyed their life as a happy couple and happy family , he was very proud of his family. He was a loving and fun uncle to his many nieces, but by far his biggest achievement and joy in life was becoming a father to his son Greyton. From Greyton’s naptimes spent on his father’s chest, to proudly bearing witness to his baby milestones like his first smile, Elio’s biggest joy in life was spending time with his wife Arba and his son Greyton.

He has left an indelible mark in all of his family’s heart, that will forever miss and never forget him. Please join us in celebrating his life.

Visitaion will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE on Tuesday, August 22nd from 10-11AM. Funeral Service will begin at 11AM. Interment at Village Cemetery, 339 Washington Street, Weymouth. Relatives and friends invited.

When I first met Elio he welcomed me to CLSB with a big smile and kindness. Whenever he walked in the building, he would always fill the room with joy and happiness, and he treated my co-workers with the same respect and kindness he showed me. All 15 months I worked there, no matter what he would always make time to talk, and he was the best listener. He had the biggest heart and I will never forget him. I told him I was going to Ethiopia soon, and he asked me to bring him back a keychain. I'll still make sure to bring one back for him in his honor. My deepest condolences to his beautiful wife, his son Greyton and his whole family. May the Almighty God bless his soul and may he rest in peace, Sunny
