Shahid Kapoor recently made his OTT debut in Raj and DK's web series Farzi as a conman, marking his 20th year in the business. Shahid recently reminisced on his lengthy acting career and talked about his actor-father Pankaj Kapur in a new interview. Shahid thought back to what the seasoned actor had said to him years earlier about how he typically played the "cute boy" in films. When he starts "acting" for real, Shahid stated his father was correct when he said he would only want to play a variety of roles.
Shahid told ETimes that he wants to experiment with different genres. “My dad (Pankaj Kapur) once told me, ‘Beta, abhi tum kar lo yeh sab – cute boy, romantic and all – par jis din tum acting karna shuru kar doge na, tab aisa lagega ki sher ke muh mein khoon lag gaya hai, phir tumhe baar baar waise hi kirdaar karne ka mann karega .’ It has turned out to be just the way he said. After having worked for 20 years, I understand what he meant. I am happy about exploring diverse genres; every genre has its own appeal, but of course, the actor in me needs to feel satisfied and challenged.”
Recently, the official teaser for Bloody Daddy, the next movie starring Shahid Kapoor, was made public. Shahid appears in the action thriller directed by Tiger Zinda Hai's Ali Abbas Zafar. The movie, which also stars Ronit Roy, Sanjay Kapoor, Diana Penty, and Rajeev Khandelwal, will be released on June 9.
