Everything You Wanted to Know About Where to Sit on a United Express CRJ-900

Mods please move if there is already a thread — I couldn't find one for UA (only for AA + DL).
The econ bulkhead is 4A (it’s usually 7A) and it’s a single seat (no 4B), although the rest of the port side has 2 seats.

Is this equipment new to the fleet? (Mesa Air)

No prior thread, thanks for starting
UA now lists two versions as posted in the wiki
v1 9/39/28
v2 12/36/28

to stay at the 76 max seats for UX?

Yes
AA to drop Mesa, Mesa to offer its CRJ900s to UA

Unusually high percentage of E+ and for version 2, lots of F
Again, likely caused by the 76 seat limit for UX

Thanks Winecountry!
Curious does 4A have the cutout in the bulkhead or does the wall go to the floor?

I wonder if UA will re-name the rows to align with the rest of the fleet? (Row 7 bulkhead/ Row 20+21 Exit) ?

Why is there so much less space on Version 1? I wonder if they have mixed up seat pitch numbers for Versions 1 and 2.

That's a tight E+ pitch for Version 1 -- wouldn't want to see 33" become the new standard.

Does any other United aircraft have a Row 13?

I never noticed this before. How ridiculous. Does anyone believe that stuff anymore?

Brand new EWR Terminal A doesn't have a gate 13 either... so yeah, I guess it's still a thing.

IIRC IHC (Intercontinental, Holiday Inn etc) have no floor 13.

Oddly enough, the calendar still has 13th, which oddly enough falls on a Friday every once in a while

Back OT, it seems that as UA takes these birds as they are (at least for now) keeping them in their former configuration as (according to UA Fleet Upgrade thread) may not keep them all that long IIRC.

Wonder what the longterm plan for CR9s is in the UA fleet.

The plan is for them to be replaced by E-jets as Mesa is able to transition pilots from the CRJ to the E-jet.

I fly out of a regional class D airport, and the day I realized that UX had replaced all the CRJ-200s with Embraer 175s, I did a little dance.

Many airports don't have a gate 13, many buildings don't have a 13th floor. I knew of some buildings in Asia that accommodated both Asian and Western phobias by skipping the 4th and the 13th floors. Silly, really, but why do anything that might freak out a subset of potential customers?

Its a holdover from Continental. CO never had row 13.

Let's return this thread to discussing the new, temporary CRJ-900 in UA's fleet. Triskaidekaphobia and how hotels, office buildings, air carriers, ... handle that are topics for other forums.

Has anyone flown this yet? I have never been on a CRJ-900 that I can recall. Does the bulkhead of row 4 go all the way to the floor, half wall, curtain style, etc.? How are the overhead bins, similar to United Express Embraer 175s?

I flew the 9 seat J version Saturday and there was not a divider at all between row 3 and J. I was in 1A so didn’t get a good view of the missing seat area.

Was made to gate check roller board. Overhead looked smaller than the Erj175 but fit 3 large backpacks on the larger side of the bins. Bins over row 1 had a cubby type door and appeared useless.

I will fly the 12 seat J version later today.
