Cote De Pablo To Star In Paramount + ‘NCIS’ Spinoff

Following

Chilean-American actress and singer Cote de Pablo will star in a yet-to-be named new NCIS spinoff. Paramount+ ordered a 10-episode series in which she will reunite with Michael Weatherly. The duo will reprise their roles as fan-favorites Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo.

Slated to start production later this year, the new chapter of the ever-expanding NCIS franchise marks de Pablo and Weatherly's first on-screen reunion in 10 years.

Both will also serve as executive producers alongside John McNamara (Trumbo, The Magicians), who wrote the premiere episode and will serve as showrunner. Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain and Shelley Meals also will executive produce.

The new series picks up after Ziva's dramatic return from her supposed death, reuniting her with Tony and their daughter, Tali, in Paris. However, their peaceful life is shattered when Tony's security company comes under attack, forcing the family to go on the run across Europe. As they try to figure out who is after them, they must confront the past and rebuild trust.

De Pablo had a main role from season 3 to 8, before making a return on season 17. The actors acknowledged their worldwide fans who supported the ‘TIVA’ movement for years, loving their characters so much that they still ask about them. That popularity led to giving new life to the on-screen couple.

“We’ve been talking about this story for many years, and now with John McNamara at the helm, we are ready,” says de Pablo and Weatherly. “The world of Tony and Ziva (and daughter Tali) promises to be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears and laughter."

McNamara expressed enthusiasm in joining the team to explore the NCIS universe from a different perspective and new locations.

“Given that the franchise is such a global sensation, I think it’s phenomenal that CBS Studios and Paramount+ have given us the greenlight to shoot in Europe," he says.

The hugely successful NCIS franchise boasts over 300 million global viewers across all platforms. The new spinoff is produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
