Covid antigen testing in Puglia | Brindisi (Salento) Airport

Brindisi Airport

UPDATED Sat 4 December 2001 | From 4am on 7 December all international arrivals to the UK will again be required to take pre-departure Covid-19 tests. The rule applies to all travellers visiting the UK or returning from a holiday, regardless of vaccination status.

Rapid Covid antigen swab tests are available for passengers departing from or arriving at the airport.

Located between the check-in area and arrivals hall on the ground floor the test is voluntary - for journeys within Italy or the EU a valid green pass is sufficient unless a test is required by the airline or country of destination.

Test results are available in around 20 minutes. In the case of a positive result you will be prevented from boarding and require to quarantine.

For additional information on testing see the Puglia Region website. Some pharmacies may be able to offer or recommend testing services and can provide additional support and assistance if needed.

  1. Hello – has anyone used the Brindisi airport service? And do they give you a printed or emailed result – or is it handwritten? Thanks!

    1. We haven’t used this service, but we would expect, like the other testing services in our region, you get an official printed version (in Italian and English). An electronic copy is sent by SMS to Italian phones. We don’t know if the same service is set up to work on international phones.

  2. COVID testing at Brindisi airport was shut down, but it may not matter any more since the US has now dropped the testing requirement for fully vaccinated people.. If for some reason you do need a test to enter the US, there are online apps such as eMed and Azova that use a video stream to watch you take certain at home tests and wait for the results and then give you a certified negative report accepted by the US government,

    1. Thanks for the update. We are at at Brindisi airport this week and will check it out. However testing is still available at Bari airport (we last checked this on 12 June). Its a walk in service, costs 20€ and results are available within 20 minutes. They recommend arriving for testing at least 2 hours before check in. The service is outside the arrival hall, at the top end (the opposite end from car hire desks and train station entrance).
