Aviapartner awarded airport licences in Spain

Aviapartner has won several airport ground services tenders in Spain, extending its network to 12 of the 15 biggest airports in the country.

Spanish airport owner AENA was awarding licences for the next 7 years, with Aviapartner adding 9 airports including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Ibiza and Bilbao.

Aviapartner entered Spain in 2015 with operations at 7 airports including Malaga, Seville, Menorca and 3 of the Canary Islands.

The permits come into effect in April 2024 with AENA receiving 168 bids from 15 Spanish and foreign service providers, which were assessed for quality, innovation, sustainability and competitiveness.

The Collect Labor Agreement obliges new licence holders to retain the workforce of the previous operators to guarantee continuity of services and retain their knowledge and knowhow.

Elsewhere in Europe, Aviapartner will replace Swissport providing airport ground services in Munich for 7 years from 1 March 2024.
