The 2022-23 high school girls hockey season was one of extreme highs and lows for the Cap City Cougars. The Cougars lost 12 of their opening 14 games, but something changed when the calendar hit January. The new year brought a winning streak with it as Cap City won seven of their final 10 games of the regular season, including five straight at one point.

“There’s always some growing pains in the beginning of the season as we get back into things,” Cap City head coach Brenna Weber said. “That being said, I don’t anticipate another slow start like last season. I think we’ll be able to jump right out this time around.”
