Airborne view of the Fighter Replenishment Area (FRA) at RAAF Base Amberley, taken from 9 Sqn UH-1H A2-915 in June 1976, on departure for a 1point0 hour Airtest in the Lowood area. Three 77 Sqn Mirage IIIOs are on the FRA, visiting from Williamtown. The 9 Sqn/12 Sqn hangar is at rear, with two 12 Sqn RAAF CH-47C Chinooks on the apron. During this flight we held over Amberley at 5000 feet and saw an F-111 pass under our Huey. The camouflage livery was so good that it was much easier to follow the F-111's shadow on the ground. Apologies for the quality of this 1976 photo.
