WHO WE ARE // Meet Tobias our Director of Electrical/Electronics (EE) Department at EDAG, Inc. In 2019, Tobias started out his career at EDAG Germany and in 2022 he moved to the US to become the Director for our EE Department. He spends most of his work days interacting with clients and aligning his team's strategy. Tobias also likes solving complex problems and enjoys a challenge. His favorite part of working at EDAG is the ability to work with people across various departments and countries. Outside of work Tobias enjoys driving his classic car and playing sports. NAVIGATING SETBACKS: THE 2024 DTM SEASON OPENER RECAP // SSR Performance GmbH and EDAG Group had certainly envisioned a different beginning to the 2024 DTM season. During the race at Oschersleben, Nicki Thiim was forced to retire, and Mirko Bortolotti plummeted from first to 15th place due to undisclosed technical issues during pit stops. Nevertheless, they did not let this dampen their spirits, as evidenced by our photo gallery. We were present on-site Saturday and had the pleasure of hosting two Formula Student teams, HAWKS Racing e.V. Hamburg and HorsePower Hannover, for the race day. The pit tour was just one of the many highlights. It is all about resilience: fall down, get back up, and keep going. EDAG CITYBOT SAFETY TESTS AT DEKRA LAUSITZRING // Safety is paramount in highly automated driving. Collaborating with DEKRA Germany within the Campus FreeCity project, we ensure the safety standards of the EDAG CityBot. DEKRA experts conducted thorough tests on various aspects, including driving dynamics, teleoperated driving, and pedestrian protection. Additionally, we assessed the #FODBOSS sweeping mat as a use case for the CityBot on the racetrack. The sweeping mat is exclusively distributed in Germany by our partner, Wiegel Transport Equipment. The project also explores an exemplary ecosystem for urban mobility, transportation, and work tasks. EXCITING NEWS FROM THE DTM 2024 SEASON // The EDAG Group and SSR Performance GmbH are continuing their partnership to bring the power of Lamborghini back to the race track. Mirko Bortolotti and Nicki Thiim will represent the team in their DTM debut. SSR Performance will field two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EvO2s at the season opener. The synergy between EDAG and SSR Performance drives success on the track, while EDAG expands its vehicle dynamics simulation capabilities with the new EDAG Zero Prototype Lab in Wolfsburg.
