WITS, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization established in St. Louis, MO in 2002. Our mission is "Empowering communities through reuse and recycling and by providing access to affordable technology and education."
WITS, Inc. refurbishes first electronics, computers and surplus equipment from local/national businesses and residents by fixing or replacing what may be broken when possible and putting it back into the community for educational use. This keeps the used equipment out of the landfills and provides those in need with the technology to accomplish their educational/career goals.
WITS, Inc. also offers training in many areas for students of all ages and capabilities for internships and resume experiences and the chance to teach their skills to other students with hands-on experiences. Many of the non-working items go towards training, working with artists for recycled arts projects or other non-profit training programs needing non-working equipment.
Anything that WITS, Inc. cannot reuse is recycled at our recycling facility or with one of our R2-practicing or certified partners. WITS, Inc. has a 0% landfill policy which has been followed since we began recycling in 2004. We have kept over 35 million lbs of electronics out of the landfills.
