Gone in 60 seconds / Passengers flying through LAX this week may get exactly that. Delta Air Lines is employing a Porsche AG 911 GT3 RS to shuttle passengers with tight connections from one plane to another, helping them avoid the chaos of crowded terminals and hopefully getting them to their destinations on time. https://lnkd.in/eV3PBtfG
And then being allowed a speed of 30 km/h on the apron 😉but nice move
Airside speed limit ???
I’m sure they will be able to make use of the top speed of the car when driving on the tarmac. Plus, plenty of room for pax luggage, especially when, say, two pax must be transferred… What a ridiculous idea…
Has anyone tried to put a single peace of luggage in this car? My personal experience tells me this car is not suitable for this mission… so I rate this as a marketing thing without real usage.
Funny, I have flown in and out of LAX many times, but Airport's inner Road Ways for Automobile has a low speed limit, and sometime ago, along the road towards Runway 25R had a Radar Speed Detector for speeding airport automobiles. So this Delta thing is just for their advertising purpose and can not drive fast on the Inner Airport Roads or Ramps. 🤣
Well Delta is all about Marketing. Is it necessary to have a GT3 RS, one of the fastest German cars, to only drive 20 mph on the apron?😂
Abahahah then you need to disambark the next plane as your luggage isn’t on the cargo manifest yet…

2moAre we playing the game B*llsh*t? If so, I call b*llsh*t. Given airside speed limitations in/around terminal areas I doubt very much this is real. I even doubt if that is a decal on theside of that car and not a photoshop. And, my goodness, if this is true it blows a huge, huge hole in Delta Air Lines claims about being focused on sustainability. What's the opposite of greenwashing? Blackwashing?
