It was an honour to host and moderate this #policy panel today to discuss how to improve health and safety for persons with disabilities in the workplace. 👷This conversation was sparked by the policy recommendations, developed within the Erasmus+ SAFE4all project, aimed at EU and national policymakers. I am grateful for the expert insights provided by esteemed speakers Adam Rogalewski Alina Pavicevac and Filippo Sinicato. It was an enriching discussion on the themes of inclusive employment, challenges to adapt the labour force amidst staff shortages and skills gaps, preventing and reducing risks at work, developing inclusive trainings and much more! 🎯A one-size-fits all model is not enough; we need person-centred, adapted trainings that reach all relevant stakeholders. The benefits and opportunities of inclusive employment have been proved time and time again, so we must remain committed to empowering workers with diverse needs to enjoy their rights by challenging abelist beliefs. The EU can play a vital role in supporting employers to provide reasonable accommodation at work as well as setting standards for OSH regulations and legislation that effectively encompass workers with disabilities. Clearly, social partners and support services must also be involved in the creation of truly inclusive workplaces and policies. 👏 Thanks to my EASPD - European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities colleagues and project partners for helping with the organization of this successful event.
