Petaluma Firefighters had an eventful morning as we made strides in the investment into our community by ensuring the long-term sustainability of our organization. As part of our outreach initiatives, we recently started a new program where high school students can work on their senior project with one of our engine companies. Jacob from Casa Grande High School is the first student to participate in this program, and the department is excited to collaborate with more students and assist the next generation of firefighters. Thank you to BC Medeiros for spearheading this program.
Programs like these are the missing link for the first responder community. We need to embrace young individuals that have an interest in these critical jobs for our communities. Great work Chad Costa, CFO, BA. You are leading the way.
Any program that get’s our community youth into the fire station is a huge win. Too few of our youth today don’t see the fire service as a career path they might want to pursue. Awesome job!
Sounds like a great program, great job!
This is awesome. Great initiative

5moThis initiative by Petaluma Firefighters brings back memories of my own start in a similar program as a teen, which led to a fulfilling career in emergency services. It's encouraging to see such opportunities for students like Jacob, fostering the next generation's interest in this vital work. Kudos to BC Medeiros and the team for nurturing potential and setting a great example of community investment. #YouthInFireService #itsafirstresponderthing #CommunityStrong 🔥🚒🎓
