McCain Foods acquires STRONG ROOTS 👏 The Canadian multinational frozen food company has completed the acquisition of Irish plant-based frozen food manufacturer, Strong Roots. The announcement follows both brand's strategic partnership which began in 2021 following a $55m investment. Strong Roots focuses on simple, real food that is 'good for the planet and people'. McCain believes its strong range of vegetable dishes will complement their portfolio, ensuring that customers worldwide get better access to high-quality and sustainable food. Heinz reinvests 68 million euros in La Rioja Picasso project will create 40 new jobs US company Kraft Heinz, specialised in the production of sauces and ready meals is present in almost every corner of the world. It arrived in Spain in 1988 with the acquisition of Orlando. In 1961, Orlando opened its plant in Alfaro (La Rioja) and in 1964 it launched the tomato sauce that made it famous. Heinz’s last major operation was in 2015, with the merger of Heinz and Kraft, another giant in the #agri-food sector, integrating Kraft’s sauces into the La Rioja plant’s product catalogue. In March 2022, the group officially announced the strategic reorganisation of sauce production in Europe.
