Moffitt and the Prostate Cancer Foundation recently hosted the 2024 Prostate Cancer Symposium where community members learned about the growing rate of men affected and diagnosed with prostate cancer. Over 100 participants engaged with leading experts to discuss new treatment, resources, and breakthrough research. Special thanks to the panel of survivors who provided testimonials, words of advice and encouragement, and candid treatment experiences with the attendees. March marks Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a vital period to emphasize the significance of early detection in saving lives. Colorectal cancer is highly treatable when caught early, in fact screening tests like colonoscopies can reduce CRC mortality rates by up to 60% (Zheng, et al 2023). Thanks to the Citrus Colorectal Cancer Foundation for inviting Moffitt Cancer Center to be a part of the first annual #ColonFest on this past Saturday (March 23rd) at Liberty Park in downtown Inverness. The festival helped to raise awareness about colorectal cancer and healthy lifestyles.
