This is poor from Emirates - so many elderly passengers who don’t have phones or people that like to have paper tickets. This is not to mention people’s who’s phone is dead. Never understand silly decisions that show little understanding for their customer base.

what if one does not use a smartphone?

Emirates Airlines Mobile Boarding Pass is a convenient and innovative feature that greatly enhances the travel experience of its customers. Thanks to this mobile boarding pass, passengers can access their boarding pass directly from their smartphone and thus avoid the unnecessary clutter of printed papers. Passengers can easily access their mobile boarding pass from the Emirates app on their smartphone. This saves travelers time and the worry of losing or forgetting their boarding pass. Emirates Airlines Mobile Boarding Pass also offers better security as flight information is instantly updated which can prevent changes or flight delays. Separately, Emirates Airlines has also implemented a passenger self-check-in system – another convenient feature that helps travelers save time by avoiding queues at the airport check-in counter. . These innovations demonstrate Emirates Airlines' commitment to providing a modern and convenient travel experience for its customers. It also helps the airline stay ahead of the industry in technological innovation while improving the travel experience of its passengers.

This announcement by Emirates showcases their commitment to digitizing travel journeys and offering passengers a convenient and eco-friendly experience. By introducing mobile boarding passes, Emirates aims to reduce paper waste and provide a streamlined check-in process for passengers departing from Dubai. Additionally, the use of mobile boarding passes throughout the travel journey, including at Dubai Duty Free, security, and boarding, eliminates the need for physical documents and reduces the risk of misplaced boarding passes. The QR code on the mobile boarding pass can be easily scanned by Emirates agents and airport staff. Question: How does Emirates ensure the security and validity of mobile boarding passes to prevent unauthorized use or duplication?

Emirates goes digital! Now you can have the convenience of having your boarding pass on your phone. This move is not only to provide convenience to our customers but also to stay competitive in the digital space. As the world goes green, this is a sustainable factor. Let’s not forget the business value - less money is spent on paper. How about a tree planting campaign? For every 10 digital boarding passes, we’ll donate to planting one tree. With the help of digitization and data, it’s easy to know the actual value this will bring to our business and Emirates’ commitment to sustainability. #EmiratesGoesGreen #DigitalBoardingPass #sustainability

This will definitely be an option and not mandatory. Emirates being a very well know airline, iam sure they would have thought of alternatives. As they say 'most' passengers and not 'all'.
