Together with Pau Prats (German Aerospace Center (DLR)) and Francescopaolo Sica (Bundeswehr University Munich), I presented at #Fringe2023 in Leeds how to retrieve along-track deformation for inland #glacier flow over #Greenland from a single image. Differential #SAR #interferometry (#DInSAR) is used to monitor surface deformation at high resolution over short periods of time. In the presence of deformation, the #Sentinel-1 constellation provides interferometric phases with challenging phase jumps due to its burst acquisition mode. Using supervised learning, we were able to separate the phase contribution responsible for these jumps while estimating the motion along the flight direction. In the inland region of Greenland we can measure surface motions of less than 70 cm within the observed time frame. We are glad to share the exciting results of Pixalytics Ltd's in-orbit demonstration of their Machine Learning (ML) land classification product aboard ION SCV004, as part of the first edition of the Cloud Computing Call for Ideas.   🌎 The code successfully processed satellite imagery and performed land cover classification using an ML model developed by Pixalytics. The service classified an image generated as a four-band Sentinel-2 subset by another participant. 💻📡 Pixalytics developed the ML model to deliver rapid processing and minimal memory usage, accurately categorizing images from anywhere in the world into broad land cover categories. In the longer term, this classification could allow onward decisions, e.g., whether this or another #satellite should be tasked to make further acquisitions or on-ground activities should be initiated.   👏 Congratulations to Pixalytics on this achievement!
