It is a dream of many to own a comfortable home; at times buying a home or property can be the most expensive and emotionally charged purchase of your life. But with careful research and determination, the keys to that dream home can be smooth.
In this connection, Birla School of Commerce organised a seminar on the topic “RERA: A Game Changer In the Real Estate Sector”, in collaboration with Odisha Real Estate Regulatory Authority (ORERA) on 20th January, 2023.
The session was attended by faculty members and students of all schools of BGU. It was useful in resolving queries of participants relating to taking a huge and permanent decision for buying a house/property.
Prof. Samson Moharana, Dean, Birla School of Commerce opened the discussion by putting a spotlight on the daily essential of a human being "Roti Kapda aur Makan " and the amount of hardwork put into earning these. The session was graced by distinguished guests like Shri Siddhanta Das, Chairperson, ORERA who talked about the importance of making a wise decision regarding the purchase of a house by sharing some of his personal experiences;
Shri Pradeep Kumar Biswal, IAS(Retd.), Member, ORERA; who focused on some of the advantages and regulations of RERA Act that increases transparency in real estate transactions;
Shri Bibhu Prasad Tripathy, AGA, Odisha High Court, who in his address stated the laws with a primary focus on protecting consumers' interests and CMA Siba Prasad Padhi, Leading Cost Accountant who discussed landmark judgements of RERA of different states.
The seminar ended with a formal vote of thanks by the Seminar coordinator, Mrs. Lopamudra Nayak, Assistant Prof., Birla School of Commerce.
