The Aviation Zone at the European Festival on May 1st, showcased the strength of the Polish aviation industry. With the official opening graced by Maciej Lasek, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy of Poland, alongside representatives from our partner institutions, the event promised an enriching experience. In collaboration with key figures from the Polish aviation sector, including LOT Polish Airlines, represented by its CEO Michal Fijol, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, represented by its CEO Magdalena Jaworska, Polish Airports Polskie Porty Lotnicze S.A., represented by its CEO Andrzej Ilków and the Civil Aviation Authority Urząd Lotnictwa Cywilnego, represented by its acting CEO Julian Rotter we curated an immersive experience. Attendees enjoyed aviation quizzes, career discussions, landing simulations, and interactive learning sessions. During this event, Michal Fijol announced the launch of additional flights to the heart of Europe, Brussels, starting in September. LOT Polish Airlines joins the European Festival in Warsaw. On the 1st of May, Poland will commemorate its 20th anniversary of joining the European Union. To mark this special occasion, the Polish national airline, along with Polish Airports, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency and Civil Aviation Authority, will host an exhibitor booth at the European Festival offering various attractions and activities, particularly for children. The entire event will take place in Warsaw, on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, adjacent to the Adam Mickiewicz monument. LOT Polish Airlines has been honoured in the Loyalty Heroes competition. Yesterday, LOT’s Loyalty Programmes team received an award in the Best Long-term Loyalty Activity category in the aforementioned competition. This year marks LOT's 95th anniversary and the 18th anniversary of the LOT Dla Firm (LDF) program, which involved the establishment of the airline's independent loyalty platform dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises registered in Poland. Companies that join LOT's free loyalty program have the opportunity to earn points for completed air travel, and attractive rewards allow them to convert their spending into savings. LOT Polish Airlines is participating in the annual ‘Daffodils’ campaign. For the 12th time this year, the LOT community is actively involved in POLIN Museum’s campaign, which is themed "Remembering together," commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising – the largest armed uprising of the Jews during World War II and simultaneously the first urban uprising in occupied Europe. LOT Polish Airlines participated in the 19th International Tourism Conference in Zabrze, Poland. This year's conference focused on Sustainable Development in Tourism. Throughout the event, a diverse array of experts engaged in discussions concerning vital aspects of sustainable development within the tourism sector. Representing LOT Polish Airlines, Mateusz Dziudziel, Fuel Department Director, provided valuable insights into the airline's perspective on sustainable tourism. He commented that "today, adapting to tourists’ needs in terms of sustainability requires a holistic approach - from boarding the plane to visiting a local museum and restaurant, even choosing the right hotel. LOT Polish Airlines has been awarded the IATA CEIV Lithium Batteries Certification. Obtaining this certificate represents the highest level of competence in maintaining safety standards and is confirmation of the airline's continuous development, as well as a response to dynamically changing market conditions. “By the end of this year, we intend to supplement our procedures and training with the highest level of competence in the transport of perishable goods. In this way, we want to confirm our compliance with all available global IATA standards and strengthen our position in the market" said Michał Grochowski, LOT Polish Airlines’ Director of Cargo and Mail.
