At the recent Asian Crystallographic Association (AsCA) in South Korea, Emeritus Professor Geoffrey Jameson was elected Vice President for a three-year term, with subsequent accession to the Presidency for three years and then a final three years on the Executive Council as Immediate Past President – a 9-year commitment. Congratulations Professor Jameson! AsCA spans all countries east of Pakistan and west of New Zealand, comprising nearly half the world’s population but with highly varying levels of scientific research advancement and investment. New Zealand with Australia forms the Society of Crystallographers in Australia and New Zealand (SCANZ). As a Principal Investigator with the Riddet Institute and as an Associate/Emeritus Investigator with two other Centres of Research Excellence, the Maurice Wilkins and MacDiarmid Institute, Geoff remains highly active in research and maintains a very strong nexus with Massey.
