We recently had the privilege of hosting the incredible NGO Katalyst at our new Pune Office ! Their mission to empower socio-economically disadvantaged women in STEM education is truly inspiring. It makes me proud to be part of JLL India long-standing partnership with Katalyst. Katalyst provides young women with exposure, skills, and incredible role models to help them not only enter the corporate workforce but thrive in today's competitive environment. During their visit, our team had the opportunity to interact with a group of 30 exceptionally talented young professionals from Katalyst. Enjoyed the fireside chat with Shri Vikram Kumar, Commissioner, PMC, discussing Pune's development plans and current challenges.     Pune is a welcoming city as it offers a vibrant lifestyle, offering quality education and work opportunities. With a growing focus on sustainability, Pune holds the 9th spot as the cleanest city, and has 33 lac trees and 212 gardens. The green cover keeps the city cool (in every sense 😊)   The need for a Metro (MRTS) would arise when more than 8000 people travel in one direction within an hour. Most Global Cities have a Metro station within 1 km of their residence. Pune Metro would continue to expand its network + focus on last mile connectivity (Minibuses & E bikes).   The PMC has envisaged the riverfront project, which shall have 15 STPs for clean water discharge, further demonstrating a focus towards sustainability. Additionally, the PMC is developing a 17km riverside road connecting the north-east to the south-west corridor.   To address the challenge of congestion caused by 5.2 million vehicles in Pune, the PMC has ambitious plans to develop 396 new roads, along with an Outer Ring Road spanning 128 km that will also ease the traffic of 50,000 trucks.     Pune Airport is also undergoing expansion with the extension of the terminal building and runway. However, it is important to note that wide-bodied aircraft seating over 180 passengers cannot land at Lohegaon Airport.
