Did you know the role of Aircraft Safety Marker Cones? Aircraft safety marker cones are conical in shape and are orange in color with reflective striping. They are used to help protect critical areas of the aircraft from damage during turn around. They create a safety buffer around a specific area on the aircraft that is susceptible to ground damage. They are usually deployed before passengers alight after landing and before any vehicles engage with the aircraft and usually removed after passengers' board and before pushback. The placement of the safety cones off the tail or nose section of a parked aircraft are recommended for daytime or nighttime operations. The marker cones also help ground handling personnel to draw the borders of the equipment restraint area (ERA) which is the area of the airside in which an aircraft is parked during ground operation. The marker cones are usually not removed from around an aircraft until clearance is given by the operator responsible for aircraft departure and there are no activities by ground support equipment or vehicles. #748AirServices #WeGoAboveandBeyond #Aviation #AviationDaily #Aviationlovers #Aircraft #AircraftSafetyMarkerCones

1ySometimes I wonder about cones. If you can't see the aircraft you sure as hell aren't going to see the cones. Not when they standing 3 feet away from the object you think they going to stop you running into.
