On Thursday, Muscat International Airport welcomed the inaugural flight of Pakistan's airline, AirSial. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced that AirSial would operate eight scheduled flights each week, connecting Muscat to Islamabad Airport (three flights), Lahore Airport (three flights), and Sialkot Airport (two flights). In January 2023, the number of passengers arriving at Oman's airports saw a significant increase of 94% compared to the same period in 2022. Data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information revealed a year-on-year rise of 115% in the number of departing passengers in January 2023.
