East-West Center Graduate Student Affiliate Haiya Knight is a native of #Detroit and graduate of Michigan State University with a BA in music. Now at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, she is a Korean Flagship Master’s student in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literature. She lives in an international community at the Center with other graduate students from 44 nations. East-West Center engaged with US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti during his visit to #Hawaii, and he “threw down the shaka” with the amazing Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Fellows. He joined in a roundtable disucssion with our staff and Graduate Fellows from #India. VP Dr. Satu Limaye and I were able to dial in from East-West Center in Washington and share about the work the Center is doing on the QUAD report and engagements with and on India. We are proud to share that Dr. Samir Saran is one of our distinguished EWC Board members, and we have FIVE East-West Center Office of Alumni Engagement (New) Chapters in India. Thank you Antone C.
