The ability to transfer your vision to someone else. There is a lot of competition/show these days with the format of a start-up or business that needs help, ask investors to put money in their hands. The most obvious thing to be able to reach that goal is to let the investors understand your vision. And not everyone has this kind of ability to do that, even the most successful one... I am currently working in one of the most influential media companies in Vietnam. The EIC is one of the most influential people in fashion in the world. I usually hear my coworkers receive a regular comment from them: “You need to think. You need to use your brain and have some common sense about what you do.” To be honest, I just think my coworkers must not understand what they were doing. But this week, for the first time ever, I presented some of my ideas for the event next month. And nothing was able to please them. I was able to hear that comment with my own ear. The funny thing is I finally understood what was going on. The EIC is a brilliant person. But everything has a price, even for the good one. The way they express themselves is more for the one who shares their intellect. They don’t really care if everyone understands their vision or not, or even more, your feelings and time to adapt. In a way, it is very Miranda in The Devil Wear Prada. And I'm pretty sure there are more people like that. However, I used to be like that. Before training to become the hospitality person like I am today, I used to behave like that. But I did not realize I was behaving like that until one of my friends was angry at me. They were so angry because I kept expecting them to understand my vision, rather than explain to them what they needed to do. Overall, no one is perfect and sometimes, there is not much we can do. In my situation, I just try to breeze and remember that I had served a lot of people, who are much worse than my EIC :))). Life can be challenging. But life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning how to dance in the rain.

This was on the agenda at a round table discussion this week at the Danish Chamber of Commerce, Dansk Erhverv, with the Danish Minister for Finance, Nicolai Wammen, where CEO Thomas Jensen, participated. CEO Thomas Jensen addressed three specific challenges: - Ensuring highly qualified IT/tech skills in Denmark's labor market. Tech companies like Milestone depend on a skilled international workforce. 40 nationalities are represented in our HQ in Brøndby. - Our healthcare system is under pressure. Implementing digital solutions, such as video technology, can benefit society by assisting healthcare personnel in optimizing patient care. - We must focus on meaningful EU legislation around the enormous technological breakthroughs we are experiencing. "I encourage the politicians and the industry to cooperate more about more regulation and legislation around the use of technology rather than banning technology. The SMARTDEST project concluded on September 30th but it is now handing over to the community the final outcomes to make the most of its results 🤝 The SMARTDEST Final Conference, held in Barcelona (Spain) last September included scientific sessions which, besides presenting the project outputs, saw the participation of scholars as keynote speakers as well as young researchers invited to submit peer-reviewed papers on topics related to the project 📈 The conference also included a non-academic session open to the general public including a workshop to illustrate the functionalities of the SMARTDEST Social Innovation Toolkit: an e-learning and engagement tool designed to support policymakers, businesses, and citizens in making their cities more resilient to tourism mobilities🔧   Currently in the testing stages, SMARTDEST will guarantee its functionality beyond the timeline of the project and will continue to engage with the community in order to sustain its legacy. Some of my upcoming speaking engagements in Malta, Berlin, Warsaw, and Milan! Love love love! My focus and heart is always with healthcare, it has always been my first, very and true lovebut I am lucky and fortunate to now also add some other, even bigger picture concepts to my repertoire. Many systems, like healthcare, are broken and not working in their current structures. My new motto, design the future you want to live in and that is exactly what I am doing in my own life and the future I want to impact. Startups are one way to do so in tech, however, there are many parts of our world that suffer from deep systemic challenges beyond a tech-first and tech only solution. The healthcare is a great example of the complex challenges our world is facing. Using that startup mentality of innovation, drive, creation, solution-first mentalities is quite a beneficial layer for the Rubik’s cube like multifaceted problems facing our global world. yet deeper understanding, partnership, collaboration, creation and cooperation. The future of the world is what we make it! Time to work on an even deeper understanding of issues, partnerships, collaboration, creation, cooperation and complexity. I love big hairy problems.
