ITServe members serve as Judges at US App Challenge Contest https://lnkd.in/gS_uQZrW Members of ITServe Alliance, the largest association of IT Services organizations comprising of over 2200 small and medium-sized businesses, was chosen to be part of the Judges Panel at the United States Congressional App Challenge Contest held last month. Established by members of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013, the nationwide Congressional App Challenge is designed to engage student creativity and encourage their participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education fields. Omprakash Nakka, Tanuj Gundlapalli, Jagan Chitiprolu, and Venkat Yerubandi, all active members of ITServe had the privilege of serving as Judges for this year 2023. During the event organized by Illinois’s 11th Congressional District (represented by Congressman Bill Foster), ITserve President Vinay Mahajan addressed the APP participants and congratulated the winner, a 10th grader from Illinois who developed the Dermidetect APP, a skin cancer detector using AI. August 21st is W.E.D. (World Entrepreneurs Day). Here is a reshare from an old article of mine. Entrepreneur = Anthah + Prerna ("Inner Motivation") A tribute to entrepreneurs. You could have chosen any profession, any job or any company to work for, but you chose to be an entrepreneur. You could be basking in the comforts of a corporate job, fixed working hours, guaranteed salary and known skill set but you ventured into an unknown territory. You embraced risk by becoming comfortable with uncertain working hours, zero salary and unknown and constantly changing skill set. You don't mind doing a little bit of product development, a little bit of marketing, a little bit of sales, accounting, corporate law, VC funding... the list goes on. Etymologically, the word "entrepreneur" may have been derived from the Sanskrit words "anthah" (or "inner") and "prerna" (or "motivation"). In other words, entrepreneurs are those who are self-motivated. As an entrepreneur, you are driven by the desire to succeed, the desire to break barriers and the desire to unlock your true potential. Do you know the advantage of being an entrepreneur? As an an entrepreneur, you change not only your own life but the lives of those around you, your family, your employees, your clients and the society in general. God willing, you may even change the course of history or make a dent in the world, as Steve Jobs said. Enjoy the journey. Enjoy being an entrepreneur. IKON IT Meet Hyderabad It was wonderful attending IKON's IT Meet at Hyderabad. As a speaker, panelist and moderator, I got a rare opportunity to discuss the latest trends in IT, healthcare and academia domains with particular focus on technologies such as cloud, ERP and AI. Many startups and ideas were presented and discussed. Entrepreneurship was highlighted and encouraged. Youngsters were encouraged to fail fast and forward.
