On Monday night we had the pleasure of hosting Wellington Volunteer Fire Support. This gave both teams the opportunity to showcase their equipment and discuss how we can work together in deployments. There's a lot of ways in which we can work with each other at various incidents, as evidenced by the support NZRT8 provided to the fire support team at the recent fire on Ghuznee St. We finished off the evening by mixing the teams and completing different stretcher challenges. A Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan is a way of measuring how much assistance may be needed for individuals in an emergency. Although the assumption is that only physically disabled people will require assistance this is incorrect.
