It's OFFICIAL! Abu Dhabi International Airport's new & iconic "Terminal A" will open its doors to the world on November 1, and what an airport to fly through. The Terminal's X-shaped design has 4 piers, with each pier pointing in the direction of the natural landscape of the emirate: Pier A points to the City, Pier B points to the Desert, Pier C points to the Oasis and Pier D points to the Sea. Quick visit of the Dubai International Boat Show yesterday in Dubai Harbour to meet some partners! Great organisation, good mix of participants and brilliant weather for it! A few key takeaways from my side: - Innovations are coming across all sorts of applications, some more mature than others, some focused on sustainability, others on water sports or luxury experience - Big push for electric boats, which means associated infrastructure needs to follow, TYDE seemed to get strong attendance - Developers like Sobha Realty, Nakheel, NEOM are present and realise the potential for their properties being closed to marinas and berths - Floating solutions for residential and public amenities are there and show strong potential with a wide range of suppliers including PORALU MARINE - Drystack concepts by firms like ASAR, Inc. or CAPRIA SA could prove valuable in projects with limited footprint. The nine key neighbourhoods that will be connected by the Dubai Metro’s Blue Line are becoming the key focus of the local and foreign property developers, with many new plan projects set to hit the market in the coming years. As a result, the pipeline of off-plan units is set to see a spike in the coming years, especially in the apartment category. Consisting of 14 stations, the newly launched Blue Line will connect the emirate’s International City 1, International City 2, Creek Harbour, Academic City, Al Warqa, Mirdif, Silicon Oasis, Ras Al Khor Industrial Area and Festival City with the Dubai International Airport. This will bring travel time between these destinations to 10 to 25 minutes, carrying 200,000 passengers a day by 2030 and 320,000 by 2040.
