Antonov An-32B Landing Gear Incident in Peru

On 17th October, an Antonov An-32B, operated by Fuerza Aérea del Perú (FAP) with registration FAP-327, experienced a hydraulic failure in its main landing gear while approaching Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM/SPJC), Peru. The aircraft, originating from Mazamari-Manuel Prado Ugarteche Airport (SPMF), managed to land with its left main gear retracted. Lima Airport Partners (LAP) dispatched firefighter teams, and all 38 on board (32 passengers and six crew members) were safely evacuated without the need for medical attention. NTSB Detailed Findings on Delta A320 Bird Strike

The NTSB's final report, released on Oct 17th, 2023, provided comprehensive insights into the Delta Airlines Airbus A320-200 incident over Red Oak, Iowa. Flight DL-2295, en route from Atlanta to Omaha, Nebraska, experienced multiple bird strikes at 13,000 feet, approximately 34 miles southeast of Eppley Airfield. The impacts resulted in significant fuselage damage, including punctures on both sides of the cockpit and near the pitot tube, affecting the structural strength and pressurization. Following the incident on Nov 19th, 2022, the aircraft underwent major repairs. DNA tests identified the birds as either Snow Goose or Ross’s Goose, though no prior bird activity reports were made in the area. Click image above for reading the full AvHerald article!


IATA Updates MNT Aircraft Systems Equipment Table for IOSA Program

IATA has published the Revision 1 update for its MNT Aircraft Systems Equipment Table (Table 4.11 and 4.14), a component of the IOSA program. The table relates to the IOSA Standards Manual (ISM) Ed 16, which provides the audit standards and practices for the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).The International Air Transport Association's (IATA) IOSA program aims to assess and improve operational safety through standardized audits.
