IATA Releases IOSA Regulatory Cross Reference List ISM Ed. 16

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has published the IOSA Regulatory Cross Reference List for ISM Edition 16. This tool cross-links IOSA's standards and recommended practices (ISARPs) with pertinent regulatory norms. By doing so, airlines can streamline their oversight and compliance management, ensuring that conforming to a single ISARP simultaneously registers as compliance with a corresponding legal standard, and vice versa. CIAA Releases Final Report on LATAM A20N Lima Incident

On Oct 2nd, 2023, Peru's CIAA published their final findings concerning the Nov 18th, 2022 collision between a LATAM Chile A20N and a Lima Airport Rescue Vehicle during takeoff. The primary cause was identified as the lack of joint planning, coordination shortfalls, and non-adherence to ICAO standardized communication. Contributing factors highlighted failures in briefing, oversight by the Civil Aviation Authority (CORPAC), and miscommunications concerning new airport facilities and operations. EASA Aims for Enhanced Aviation Partnership

At the EASA Annual Safety Conference in Seville, Spain, aviation stakeholders discussed the imperative of enhancing both safety and sustainability in air travel. EASA's Acting Executive Director, Luc Tytgat, unveiled plans to adapt the agency's operational framework to foster closer collaboration in targeted groups and announced an upcoming project, ‘Designing EASA+’, which will serve as an inclusive platform promoting agility and innovation in aviation. Recognizing the changing landscape, the agency acknowledges the growing roles of drones, vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft, and the broader public in the future of aviation.
