Jet2 holidays has issued a "final day" holiday update to passengers ahead of a busy summer for trips abroad.

The travel operator, which recently announced it will soon fly from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, has said it is bringing back a service customers can use on the last day of their holidays. The service is now available in over 130 hotels in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, and will be rolled out across more than 50 hotels in Cyprus next year.

Jet2's "Resort Flight Check In" enables travellers to check-in their bags at the hotel on the morning of their flight home, meaning they can then enjoy the final day of their holiday bag-free. A specialist team at the hotel will then ensure the bags are safely to the airport and stowed onto the aircraft.

Jet2holidays first launched its Resort Flight Check-in service in 2016. It was temporarily suspended during the pandemic before relaunching earlier this year.

The holiday provider said after "receiving positive feedback from customers and independent travel agents for relaunching the service", it will now expand to Cyprus hotels for Summer 24.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, told the ECHO: “Since reintroducing Resort Flight Check-in® service for Summer 23, the service has enjoyed phenomenal levels of uptake from customers, and we are continually being told what a difference this smart, secure service makes to their overall holiday experience.

"By launching the service for next summer in well over 50 hotels in Cyprus, customers will now be able to book ahead and take advantage of the service in Summer 24."
