Libya beat visitors Comoros at their temporal home in Mali on Monday evening to win to return to the top of Group C and dislodge Zambia from the Group C summit.
Playing in Bamako away from the civil strife back home, Libya beat winless and bottom of the table Comoros 3-0 to move to second place level on seven points while Zambia are a point behind on six with three games played each while Mozambique are third on four points.
Meanwhile, Zambia coach Dario Bonetti and five home based players returned home this evening from Maputo where they beat Mozambique 2-0 on Sunday.
“Everybody knew that this game was important to win and everything is in our hands now,” Bonetti said at Lusaka International Airport upon arrival.
Match day four resumes in June with Zambia hosting Mozambique on June 4.
